Disclaimer:

Star Trek: Voyager is owned and controlled by Paramount Studios, but all original content is mine. I suppose I should also give Pam Tillis and Arista Records some thanks for giving my brain something to do.

Note:

OK, OK, so maybe this isn't something you'd ordinarily expect from me. Personally I never expected this of myself, either. I mean, come on, filk? I don't know what possessed me to do it, other than the fact that my wheels were spinning while waiting for my beta reader to finish editing one of my stories.

Please bear in mind that this is the first time I've attempted to write filk (it was more difficult than expected), so if it sucks wind you'll know why. You may be prompted to think that this is incredibly cheesy, and I wouldn't blame you if you did. Pam Tillis is known for taking on songs with playful lyrics. "Betty's Got A Bass Boat" is definitely in that song list.

The following presentation is rated G.

Now Seven was your average ordinary drone
Never wanted very much a thought of her own
Just obey her orders and assimilate the occasional guy
But Seven got caught one fateful day
Trying to double-cross Voyager's Janeway
And with an act out of her control, she lost the life she knew

Seven's now a lone soul, Seven's got a voice, all of a sudden she can make a choice
She's a bit awkward with everyone, since she lost her lifestyle as an automaton
Just how she's going to fit in, oh she might not ever know
Oh, but things sure got a lot harder since she became a lone soul

Now lately getting noticed isn't all that tough
Since the holo-doctor stripped most of her grafted stuff
Her femininity attracts the men, like they've been hypnotized
Now Seven can't believe her popularity
Despite her interpersonal deficiencies
So ironic and the funny thing is, she doesn't like to socialize

Seven's got a hairdo, Seven's statuesque, looks to cause a cardiac arrest
She's the most popular girl on ship, since she got that tight jumpsuit and those pouty lips
Still how she's going to fit in, oh she might not ever know
Oh, but things sure got a lot harder since she became a lone soul

She's got high heeled shoes, she can't lose
She's got those boys just blowin' their fuse
Starfleet and Maquis, all being friendly
If she could only work on her courtesy

Seven's now a lone soul, Seven's got a voice, all of a sudden she can make a choice
She's a bit awkward with everyone, since she lost her lifestyle as an automaton
Just how she's going to fit in, oh she might not ever know
Oh, but things sure got a lot harder since she became a, ooh
Things sure got a lot harder since she became a lone soul
